Tucked under a railway arch on a rare quiet street in London, Bermondsey Social Club is a unique urban style venue. Open 7 days a week, and licenced until 1 am, it’s the ideal chill-out space, with a no fuss approach courtesy of the informal and yet characterful finish, with plenty of exposed brickwork and the distinct arched ceilings adding that little extra appeal. With a decent yet not overwhelming capacity of 120, there’s plenty of space for you and all your friends to gather without feeling packed in, with both indoor and outdoor space at your disposal and good local transport links in the surrounding area.
The bright and spacious feel at Pause Bar comes courtesy of the expansive open-plan layout, and this allows it to lend itself to all sorts of different occasions. The 2am licence means that the party can easily carry on well into the small hours once the match wraps up, whilst the venue’s great central location close to the likes of Fenchurch Station, Aldgate and Tower Hill means getting there from across town is hassle free. If you are interested in putting together a bespoke package then simply get in touch; the dedicated events team are more than happy to help tailor the experience no matter your budget.
Styx is a converted warehouse in North London with all sorts of cool and quirky spaces, from the outdoor decking area (complete with canal and pizza pop-up) to the bar and seating area inside a rusted freight container, not least the warehouse bar, green room and kitchen. This informal feel is perfectly suited to a gathering of friends who want to watch the Euro 2016 both in style and comfort, without too much fluff or fuss. There’s a maximum capacity of 500, so there’s room for everyone and even in spite of the outside spaces, you needn’t worry about the weather, as the entire area can be covered with a canvas festival tent.
Beagle is a beautiful bar, restaurant and multi-purpose event space that has won several awards for its outstanding interior design. It’s easy to see why, given that the venue is comprised of 3 restored and converted railway arches, granting the space bucket loads of character and atmosphere that would make for a brilliant, intimate feeling space to watch the games unfold in. This charm comes in thanks to the arched ceilings, exposed brickwork and sumptuous décor but in spite of the cosy feel, it still has a good capacity of 200, and it’s also easy to reach, being found right by Hoxton train station.
Rolling Stock takes pride of place on the popular Kingsland Road, and has cemented itself a reputation as one of the city’s best arts destinations. Spaces include a bar, gallery, beer garden and a buzzing underground dance floor, making this the go to venue for London’s trendy East End partygoers. Known for its great music and DJ nights, as well as their great selection of wines, craft beer and quirky cocktails, they certainly know how to show their guests a good time, and it’s this party spirit that would help create a top atmosphere before a big match.
