Suitable spaces in London for a charity auction event
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Charity auctions are a brilliant way to bring in much needed money for good causes, and in order to maximise attendance – and therefore potential income for the chosen charities – you’ll want to make sure you pick the most suitable venue, with any of the following making great choices.

Stationers Hall

Stationers Hall

Stationers Hall and Garden is steeped in British history and tradition, and makes for a truly impressive backdrop. The sheer attention to detail and quality of finish throughout is what makes this venue feel so special, as does its location next to St Paul’s Cathedral, right in the heart of the city. There are 4 different rooms available for hire in all, which can seat 200 guests theatre style, with cabaret and dining style layouts also available depending on the look and feel you wanted for the occasion. As for transport links in the area, City Thameslink, St Paul’s and Blackfriars can all be reached in little more than a few minutes.

IWM London

IWM London

The main space available at the Imperial War Museum London is the spacious Atrium, but there are many different spaces on offer throughout this visually striking Grade II listed building, which is also rich in culture and history. These include meeting rooms, break out spaces, a cinema, a private dining room and a roof terrace, so there is certainly ample space for almost any event, including a charity auction. Priding themselves on qualities such as boldness and initiative, IWM has worked with many strong brands and it has a reputation that brings with it much precedence.

Village Underground

Village Underground is set within a renovated warehouse from the turn of the century and features extensive exposed brickwork, arched ceilings and various other period features which immediately bring charm to any occasion. Their backlist thus far includes events as diverse as exhibitions, concerts, live theatre performances, club nights, social projects and private parties, amongst others, proving that this adaptable space can be kitted out to suit almost any style. Its generous floor space and good capacity will allow for plenty of guests to attend the auction, maximising potential funds raised.

Asia House

Asia House

Asia House is a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse that can accommodate up to a generous 300 guests. It’s a wonderful choice if you want a setting that feels sumptuous, with details including marble fireplaces and highly decorative ceilings in the 3 Fine Rooms, complete in the Regency style of architecture. In addition to this, there are 2 smaller meeting rooms and 2 purpose-built exhibition spaces, making this a very flexible venue that can suit many styles. Its Central London location puts it close to many good transport links, including Oxford Circus, Bond Street and Regent’s Park.

ME London

ME London

ME London boasts 7 different multi-function rooms, which range in capacity from 8 to 300. These were all purpose-built to create a flexible event, meeting and party space, be it a relaxed or formal vibe you are looking for. While here, you can expect all the convenience and service of a top hotel, with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and a dedicated team who are on call whenever you need them. Found close to the banks of the River Thames, nearby tube stations include Temple, Covent Garden, Charing Cross and Embankment, all of which are less than 10 minutes away.

ICA

ICA

The ICA was described as the ‘cultural heartbeat of London’ by none other than Damien Hirst, cementing its reputation as an iconic and creative venue that has played host to many different events. There are a whole range of spaces on offer, including 18th Century reception rooms, a fully-equipped theatre and state-of-the-art cinemas. Help is available at every step of the process, from the experienced events team who ensure the smooth running on the day itself to the in-house caterers who provide seasonal, bespoke menus, and the technical team, who are in place to avoid any unwanted hitches during the actual proceedings.
