Reading Time: 3 minutes

Here are some of our favourite venues from throughout London which we think are perfect if you are planning an Indian wedding. Take a look at what they have to offer, and hopefully you will pick up some inspiration and perhaps even discover the perfect space for your big day.

Royal Horticultural Halls

Royal Horticultural Halls

The Royal Horticultural Halls perfectly embodies the timeless elegance of the Edwardian era, making this a great choice for lovers of period glamour. The distinct arched ceiling and various original features combine to make this suitable for any special occasion, and it’s adaptable enough to cater to almost any aesthetic style. In terms of space the vast open floor of the hall and the generous height ensure if feels bright and airy, whilst the capacity itself is a hefty 700.

The Troxy
The Troxy

Upon originally opening in the 1930s, The Troxy was a grand cinema. Though it has been sensitively updated to allow it to function as a multi-purpose, modern event space – via the addition of practical features such as a state of the art PA and lighting system and air conditioning – it has in fact retained many of its original period features, perfectly capturing the distinct art deco style of the era, which is very much of trend within the events scene right now. Given the vast scale of many Indian weddings, you’ll no doubt be glad to hear that The Troxy can accommodate up to a whopping 1800 guests, so no one need miss out on the fun.

East Wintergarden

East Wintergarden

The defining feature of The East Wintergarden is undoubtedly the 27 metre high domed glass ceiling, which is not only visually striking, but serves to flood the main space with an abundance of natural light, making for a bright and airy atmosphere. The Gallery above the main floor is often hired for private receptions, including weddings, and in addition to that, there is also the Promenade Room for more intimate gatherings. Found in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a few minutes from the station of the same name, this contemporary, flexible venue also benefits from a generous maximum capacity.

Underglobe

UnderglobeThe Underglobe takes its name from its unique and enviable location, tucked discreetly beneath the iconic Globe Theatre, close to the River Thames, right in the hub of the city’s action. Enter this hidden gem by the riverside onto a mezzanine, where you can enjoy a welcoming drink whilst browsing the popular Shakespearean exhibition. Then head down the dramatic, sweeping staircase to reach the main space, with highlights including impressively high ceilings, great lighting, audio-visual equipment and a purpose built stage, ideal for organising entertainment, not to mention the stunning and atmospheric décor.

Eventim Apollo

Eventim Apollo

The Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith – just a 5 minute walk from its namesake station – is one of the best known venues within the comedy world, having welcomed some of the world’s biggest names to its stage, as well as an impressive selection of top musicians. You could join this illustrious list by holding your wedding reception here, making the most of the vast amount of space on offer, which can comfortably accommodate up to 1500 guests, meaning it is yet another fantastic offering for those looking to include all of their loved ones in the celebrations.
