Friends House (London) Hospitality Ltd celebrated 10 years of running a successful ethical, fair and sustainable business, in its very own venue The Light. Guests, including customers, press, partners and Quakers joined the Company to mark “Putting faith back into business”.
The largest of its kind in Euston, The Light is a modern venue with a capacity of up to 1,000 delegates. The auditorium is a standalone venue, located within Friends House, which was launched in 2014 after a 2-year refurbishment of The Large Meeting House. The Light can host a variety of configurations, from theatre and cabaret style events, to graduations, product launches and exhibitions.
For Friends House’s 10 year anniversary event, there truly wasn’t a venue more suitable than The Light. The guests were showcased what they do best: sustainable events. During the night of entertainment, the keynote speaker Andy Pag talked about his eco-adventures around the world, using recycled cooking oil as fuel.
The night ended on a high, as Carbon Smart awarded the Company with a Gold Certification, as carbon emissions have decreased by 29% at Friends House since 2009. Camden Voices, a community choir, then took to the stage to close what was an inspiring evening, which truly showed that “with The Light, events don’t cost the earth”.
