Our 40th and 50th birthdays are big milestones and so it only seems right to mark them with a suitably grand celebration. The reputation for quality and sophistication that surrounds popular London areas, Chelsea and Kensington, makes them the ideal location to search within for a fantastic venue. To make things even easier, we’ve cherry-picked a few of our absolute favourites that won’t necessarily break the bank.
Toms Kitchen is situated within a lovingly converted townhouse, boasting no less than 3 separate private spaces. The venue takes its name from multi-award winning chef, Tom Aikens. His delicious food is sure to delight your guests, with the very best of British, Italian, French and American cuisine on offer within the seasonal, bespoke menus. The ground floor brasserie with open-plan kitchen can hold up to 100 guests, and the 1st floor private dining room can take 60, whilst the 2nd floor private room is perfectly suited to intimate gatherings with your nearest and dearest, with space for just 35.
Striving to establish a feeling of home from home, Bumpkin Chelsea is a relaxing and friendly venue – your local Great British Brasserie. All of the food is prepared using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, meaning you can rest assured that you’re getting the best of the best. There is a private dining room inside, but the venue is sought after for its wonderful outdoor space, with the Secret Garden holding parties all year round and access to The Chelsea Gardener making this like a little oasis within the heart of the city. Found just off the King’s Road, it is 15 minutes from Sloane Square tube station.
Open 7 days a week, Goat is a DJ Bar and an excellent choice of venue if the kind of birthday party you want is one filled with plenty of cocktails and late-night dancing. Canapes are available to help satisfy the hunger your guests will surely work up through all that dancing, whilst the layout itself with its split level bar, high ceilings and abundance of natural daylight ensure the space never feels cramped, with a modern and yet stylishly characterful finish throughout. The nearest transport options are South Kensington and Fulham Broadway, both of which can be reached on foot in around 15 minutes.
