If you or someone you love is due to have a baby, throwing a shower is one of the best – and most fun – ways to bring everyone together to share in the joy. Given that the day is typically all about spoiling the mother-to-be, it makes sense to hold the event somewhere suitably special, and nowhere in London can meet that bill more so than Chelsea, which is full to the brim with great venues. Here are a few of our favourites.
If you want to celebrate with good food, then The Townhouse at Tom’s Kitchen could be just the venue for you. Taking its name from multi-award winning chef, Tom Aikens, you get the idea right off the bat that the quality you can expect to find really is amongst the best of the best. Using seasonal ingredients, the team of chefs lovingly prepare Aiken’s delicious food, which celebrates the best of British, whilst incorporating influences from Italian, French and American cuisine. There are 3 different private dining rooms available to choose from, each with its own distinct features and appeal.
Be it a relaxing drink after work to unwind or a lively night out with your friends, Eclipse Chelsea can do it all. This world class cocktail bar has a wonderful contemporary feel that is ideal for a laid-back vibe, and with large group bookings and private hire available, you can make the most of the 150 person capacity if you so wish. Surrounded by beautiful boutiques and restaurants, it’s no surprise that Eclipse has become a favourite spot for locals seeking somewhere chic to hang out. Just 6 minutes from South Kensington station, it’s also well connected to further afield.
Bumpkin Chelsea is a Great British Brasserie, proudly using the very finest locally sourced, seasonal ingredients to prepare classic British fare. This is another flexible offering when it comes to the spaces at your disposal, with a private dining room as well as the Secret Garden. You can also get access to The Chelsea Gardener, a little oasis in the heart of the city. The great outdoor space on offer also means they are one of the few venues in Chelsea to be able to cater to a BBQ style event. Found just off the King’s Road, the nearest tube stop is Sloane Square.
