Creating Experiences, Not Just Events: A Guide for Event Professionals
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Choosing the right venue is almost as important as choosing the right partner — make the wrong decision and suddenly, you’re stuck with Lil Xan performing your wedding song. Frankly, making the right choice can transform a mediocre event into something that people will talk about for years to come (like, what a great encore! and wow, I never should have doubted Amy’s music taste!).

GIANTX HQ

And speaking of unforgettable events, I bring to you GIANTX HQ, one of three headquarters of the GIANTX Esports club in London where gamers could probably spend many happy years in their top of the range facility.

Aside from having a really cool name, GIANTX makes sure that from second you saunter through the door, every one of your event dreams can come to life. Here, cutting-edge technology and an industrial gaming vibe come together, creating nothing short of a gaming utopia.

They offer top-notch equipment and services so advanced that every visit will be extraordinary, resulting in an unforgettable guest experience. And don’t forget their multiple PCs and consoles, large spectator and reception area, streaming, AND content space. What more could you want?

Plus, they’ve gotten rid of those pesky security barriers and dull reception desks, resulting in an atmosphere where everyone can feel at ease. There’s no intimidating workspace here — just good vibes. Imagine, you can host training sessions, bootcamps, team-building activities, product presentations, and even your own gaming competitions, all in this one space.

Thames Luxury Charters

To be completely transparent with you, I didn’t realise quite how much I adored boats until I saw these bad boys (or bad girls? Are boats meant to be female?). I have never wanted to host an event on a boat so badly.

To begin with, Thames Luxury Charters offers a replica 1980s stern-wheeled Mississippi paddle steamer called the Elizabethan, with an elegant British appearance and overall Downton Abbey vibe. With clean lines and a flexible layout, this lovely lady is ready to embark and disembark throughout London, with a retractable roof making her perfect to both chill out on the UV and dance beneath the stars.

Then, there’s Dixie Queen, a name I would love to take for myself. This is actually the largest entertainment boat on the Thames, with a capacity for 620 guests. Highlights include Tower Bridge lift moments (cue the gasps) and an open deck for pondering your deepest thoughts amongst the lights of the city. Just imagine sitting out there with an oolong cocktail and the sun shining, breeze ruffling through your hair, BBQ sizzling in the background… idyllic.

And finally, there is the Edwardian, which features a main saloon (howdy, partner!), bar area, open upper deck, and a quintessentially British design. With unspoiled skyline views, this is the perfect location to throw a private dinner, sightseeing excursion, or proposal (yes, this is your sign to propose to her! And invite me to the wedding, pls).
Both the Edwardian and Elizabethan pass beneath the iconic London Eye fireworks (!!!) and the Dixie Queen’s bridge lift on NYE is truly unforgettable. Honestly, can event spaces get any better?

The Steel Yard

Not to be dramatic, but The Steel Yard is one of the coolest spaces I have ever seen in my life. Like, LOOK AT IT. It’s like a dungeon and a Polish salt mine smushed their interiors together and created some of the most badass spaces the world has ever seen.

The Steel Yard venue in London

To say that this is the place that Victorian charm meets industrial chic feels incredibly underwhelming – this space is nothing short of magical. I want to perrear here. I want to host a tea showcase here. I want to hire out the whole space and whittle away my days reading female Carmilla by candlelight.

Imagine the sheer serotonin boost that your guests will have when they walk into what appears to be a WiFi-equipped time machine, where they will be welcomed by a reception bar (the best thing to be welcomed by, tbh), a main hall, and a mezzanine level filled with whimsy and desire (although that last emotion could just be me).

It’s perfect for all events, from fashion shows to award ceremonies to live streaming (because frankly, EVERYONE needs to see this). Just bring 100+ chosen ones and prepare to have THE time of your life.
