Funky wedding venues in London
Reading Time: 3 minutes

The following five venues would all make an excellent setting for a wedding with a funky twist that would really help your big day stand head and shoulders above the rest. Take a look and see what catches your eye.

Dinerama

Dinerama

If you have a huge guest list and are stressing over who may have to be cut, fear not, as Dinerama offers a whopping 1000 person capacity, meaning there is ample space for everyone and nobody need miss out on your special day. The ultimate food and drink arena, there are 6 bars serving all sorts of tempting tipples, not to mention some of the city’s best street food traders, and with an urban, industrial influence (the space was once a bullion truck yard, after all) it’s also very much on trend and ideal for less formal receptions.

Friendly Place

Dating back to the 1930s, this former spice warehouse boasts 4 floors of flexible event space (including a rooftop terrace), which add up to a total of 7500 square feet. Charmingly decayed, this venue offers the best in shabby-chic, rustic backdrops, once again capitalising on the ever-growing trend for urban sensibilities. Though there is a large and fully-functioning commercial kitchen, there is also an additional kitchenette found on each floor for maximum convenience.

Loft Studios

loft studios

Loft Studios is West London’s premier studio complex, with spaces that benefit from an abundance of natural light courtesy of generously proportioned windows and well placed skylights. Meanwhile, exposed beams, wooden floors and raw natural brickwork ensure there’s plenty of charisma to be found. These generous spaces can be hired individually, but altogether offer a hefty total capacity of 2000. As for getting there, the nearest local transport links are Willesden Junction and Kensal Green.

The Underdog Gallery

Underdog GalleryThe Underdog Gallery is a contemporary event space found in the popular Bermondsey area of London Bridge. Fully licenced, they can provide a stocked and staffed bar as well as catering should you desire it. In addition to refreshments, they can also assist with any production or entertainment needs you may have, thanks to the full PA/sound system and their experience hosting live music events, as well as various other occasions, from art exhibitions to wedding receptions and just about everything else in between.

The Forge

the forge

Despite having a generous amount of space and a good capacity of 300, The Forge manages to feel intimate and welcoming, which is why it would lend itself so well to a wedding reception. Part of this is due to the quirky touches throughout, like bold murals bringing splashes of colour to the walls and equally colourful mismatched chairs. Full length windows flood the space with natural light, making it feel bright, airy and fresh, and with Camden Town station just a few minutes away on foot, it’s also well connected.
