It comes as no surprise that London plays host to many conferences each year, and so to really help yours stand out in the minds of your guests, it’s a great idea to opt for a completely unexpected venue. Here are a few of our favourites.
Bounce aims to bring together the very best of the business and social worlds, offering great spaces for the likes of conferences, team building exercises, networking sessions, boardroom meetings and away days, whilst also functioning as a ping pong club! With a bar and restaurant thrown into the mix and award-winning design throughout, Bounce really does offer everything under one roof. There are all sorts of great features to be found in the private room, including state of the art presentation and sound systems and a photo pod. There is also a summer offer currently underway, which entitles every daytime booking to a free ping pong session.
The Club House at All Star Lanes in Holborn is another great choice if you love the idea of getting your guests interacting in a highly social and physically active way, as it is in fact the ultimate boutique bowling venue, with hire granting you unlimited use of the 2 bowling lanes, as well as access to the private cocktail bar with its dedicated mixologist. The New York inspired menu is sure to go down a treat, and there’s even karaoke if anyone is feeling particularly brave. Its fantastic location means there are plenty of nearby tube stops at your disposal, including Russel Square, Tottenham Court Road and Holborn.
The Eventim Apollo, found close to the River Thames in Hammersmith – just 5 minutes from the tube station of the same name – is a legendary destination within the world of live performance, having hosted some of the very best musicians and comedians from across the globe on its stage. Now available for hire for a whole range of different uses, it can accommodate a very generous 1500 guests, making it ideal for large scale conferences. The theatre style layout and natural acoustics are sure to come in handy, whilst the scale of the venue, its striking design and rich cultural past are also guaranteed to impress.
Radio Rooftop at ME London is available exclusively for events in the morning, from 7:00-10:30am. This stunning rooftop bar is gorgeous in its own right, with a highly contemporary finish and top quality touches throughout, but the star of the show is likely to be the perspective of London it offers, as you take in the stunning panoramic views of the city’s iconic skyline. Also found close to the Thames, its prime location keeps it well connected to the buzz of the city, with the likes of Covent Garden, Temple and Leicester Square tube stations all within easy reach.
Century is something of a hidden gem, discreetly tucked away on Shaftsbury Avenue in the heart of the ever popular area of Soho. This private members club lives up to the reputation of such a venue, with suitably stylish and elegant design throughout, with modern touches combining with more characterful features to create a warm and laid-back atmosphere. With no less than 5 floors on offer, spaces include a restaurant, a cocktail lounge, a meeting room, a screening room and a rooftop terrace – the largest of its kind in all of Soho in fact. Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square can each be reached in just 4 minutes.
The Exhibitionist is the latest in luxury boutique hotels, housed within beautifully restored townhouses from the 18th century. Art is very much at the core of this unique venue, with 8 galleries regularly hosting the work of exciting up-and-coming artists. This collection is updated regularly, meaning there is something new to see upon every visit, with the often striking artwork forming a one-of-a-kind backdrop for any event. The galleries themselves are blank canvases however, leaving plenty of scope for transformation to suit the individual’s needs.
