The best wedding venues in East London
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The list of decisions to be made when planning a wedding can at times seem endless but if you can secure the right venue, you’re immediately off to a great start. That said, East London is a popular choice of location given its rich cultural history, so here are some of the best venues to hire in East London:

Hackney Town Hall

Hackney Town Hall

If you want to bring a sense of grandeur to your wedding, Hackney Town Hall would make an excellent choice. The increasingly popular and much sought after Art-Deco style lends itself wonderfully to any special event, while features in the tastefully restored Assembly Hall such as the original 1930s chandeliers and sprung dance floor are a real treat. The space itself is very flexible and you can choose to use the main hall in all its glory – with room for up to 550 guests at your reception – or if you desire something a little more intimate, you can divide the space into several smaller sections via the floor-to-ceiling partitions.

The Pavilions – Mile End Park

There are two separate buildings on offer at The Pavilions, each offered as a blank canvas for any number of event types, allowing you to organise your own décor and caterers, perfect if you have a clear vision for your big day and would prefer to be hands on with seeing it become a reality. The striking, contemporary spaces use huge floor-to-ceiling windows to not only let in plenty of light, but to allow you and your guests to marvel at the water and greenery of Mile End Park, a little oasis in the heart of London’s East End. Despite feeling somewhat tucked away from the bustle of the city, Mile End tube station is just a convenient five minute walk away, meaning you are still well connected.

St John at Hackney

If you fell for the charm of the previous venue and like the idea of choosing a church as your venue but need something a little bigger, then rest assured that St John’s at Hackney could be exactly what you are looking for. This 18th century, Grade II listed building can fit an impressive 1400 guests and, in thanks to the great acoustics and wonderful space, has played host to many renowned musical artists, such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande, as well as many classical acts. There are wonderful, large windows to let in lots of natural light, while the beautiful grounds and ample parking facilities will surely come in very handy as well.
