Canary Wharf is one of the most vibrant parts of London’s events scene. This means it features some of the best and most exciting venue options in all of the city; the best of which we’ve featured below for your convenience.
Honestly, there a lot more event spaces in Canary Wharf than you think, but these are just a few of our faves:
28 West is a stylish lounge bar found in the very heart of Canary Wharf that serves as the ultimate private party space. With a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, it’s perfectly suited to a fun yet fuss-free event, with touches like comfy sofa seating, exposed brickwork and old-school arcade games bringing charm and warmth to the space. Able to accommodate up to 350 guests in all, the venue also benefits from great views out onto the neighbouring River Thames.
The Pearson Room is a bar, restaurant and flexible event space that overlooks the iconic Canada Square. The impressive glass wall ensures you can make the most of this view, whilst also serving to flood the interior with natural light for a bright and contemporary feel. The 50s influence in the décor softens the space, granting it a welcoming edge, and making it suitable for everything from casual cocktail and canape receptions to formal seated dinners, with a maximum capacity of 390 in all.
Giant Robot is found at the east end of London’s largest rooftop garden, and is a generous space that’s able to accommodate up to as many as 700 guests. You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to food and drink, with no less than 4 street food traders and 3 bars to be found, with other highlights on offer including floor-to-ceiling windows and a wraparound terrace that boasts great panoramic views across the capital. Back at ground level, Canary Wharf station can be reached in less than 5 minutes.
The defining feature of East Wintergarden is easily the 27-metre high domed glass ceiling. Not only is it visually striking as an amazing achievement of architecture and design, but it ensures the space feels light and airy throughout. In addition to this main space, you can opt to use The Gallery or The Promenade Room for smaller, private functions. As a whole, the venue has a whopping capacity of 1000, however, so you needn’t hold back when it comes to forming the guest list.
Being found within The Museum of London Docklands, Wilberforce and Quayside is an offering with its roots proudly in the past, and yet with a keen eye looking towards the future. The building itself is a Grade I listed Georgian warehouse, with features such as the original pine columns and flooring still intact and forming an effective contrast with the more modern fixtures and fittings. With a capacity of 800, it’s another venue well suited to large scale gatherings, and the nearest rail link – Westferry – is just 4 minutes away.
Found on the waterfront, in the sleek Crossrail Place development, Everyman Cinema – Canary Wharf is home to 3 screens that each come complete with the venue’s now trademark sofa seating, and use of a stylish statement bar. Each of the auditoria also boasts top notch picture quality and the latest in digital projection, making the venue ideal for occasions as varied as screenings, presentations and product launches, to name just a few. Whatever the matter at hand, the team are happy to put together entirely bespoke events.
Absolute Pleasure Yacht is undoubtedly one of the city’s most unique offerings when it comes to events planning. Here, you’ll be able to entertain in the height in luxury and decadence by taking over your very own boat upon the River Thames. There are both catered and self-catered options available, depending on whether you’d prefer to be wined and dined or to have complete privacy, and with a capacity of just 40, it’s ideally suited to more intimate, personal gatherings.
