Top Asian wedding venues in London
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Asian weddings are often known for their immense party atmosphere and vast size. As such, it’s often tricky to find a venue within London that offers the required amount of space whilst also feeling special enough for someone’s big day. Below you will find a varied selection of spaces that offer exactly that, so take a look, and hopefully one will catch your eye.

Royal Horticultural Halls

Royal Horticultural Halls

Offering another generous maximum capacity – this time of 700 – the Royal Horticultural Halls is a flexible offering that in terms of its generous open space is something of a blank canvas, able to be adapted to suit a myriad of different needs. The setting itself is certainly befitting of a special occasion such as a wedding, with various original features which hark back to the grandeur of the Edwardian era. Being just 10 minutes from Victoria train station as well as various tube stops, it’s easy to reach from both inside and outside London.

The Troxy

TroxyThe Troxy dates back to the 1930s, when it first opened as a grand cinema. The art deco style that was so prevalent in that era has been sensitively retained, meaning the old-school glamour lives on in various period features. In fact, the building now has an official Grade II listing, protecting it for its historical and cultural importance. This is not to say that the venue is stuck in the past however, as various updates have been made to allow it to function as a perfectly practical space in the modern age, including the addition of air conditioning and cutting-edge PA and lighting systems. As for the capacity, you can expect to invite up to as many as 1800 people.

East Wintergarden

East Wintergarden

The East Wintergarden has several different spaces available for hire, including the Promenade Room, ideal for more intimate gatherings; The Gallery, popular for weddings and private receptions; and the main floor, with its vast open space and 27 metre high domed glass ceiling, which floods the interior with natural light and keeps the venue feeling spacious and airy, even whilst full to capacity, which in itself allows for up to a very generous 1250 guests in total. Found in the centre of Canary Wharf, the station of the same name lies just a stone’s throw away.

Eventim Apollo

Eventim Apollo

The Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith is indeed a multi-purpose event space, hosting everything from awards ceremonies to dinners and, of course, wedding receptions. You may know it best however as a much coveted performance space for some of the world’s best names in music and comedy. The scale of the venue allows for up to a total of 1500 guests, so you don’t need to worry about being conservative when it comes to drawing up the guest list. Grand in size, impressive in feel and rich in history, it’s easy to see why its popularity has endured to the extent it has.

Underglobe

UnderglobeUnderglobe is one of the city’s best hidden gems, tucked beneath the world-renowned Globe Theatre – hence its name. Entering by the side of the River Thames, you can enjoy a welcoming drink on the mezzanine before descending to the venue’s main space, which is richly atmospheric, not least because of the large tree that erupts from the middle of the floor. Other noteworthy features include high ceilings, built-in lighting, top quality audio-visual equipment and even a purpose-built stage, perfectly situated should you wish to put on entertainment to keep the party in full swing.
