The Underglobe takes its name from its unique and enviable location, tucked discreetly beneath the iconic Globe Theatre, close to the River Thames, right in the hub of the city’s action. Enter this hidden gem by the riverside onto a mezzanine, where you can enjoy a welcoming drink whilst browsing the popular Shakespearean exhibition. Then head down the dramatic, sweeping staircase to reach the main space, with highlights including impressively high ceilings, great lighting, audio-visual equipment and a purpose built stage, ideal for organising entertainment, not to mention the stunning and atmospheric décor.
The Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith – just a 5 minute walk from its namesake station – is one of the best known venues within the comedy world, having welcomed some of the world’s biggest names to its stage, as well as an impressive selection of top musicians.
