Unusual conference venues
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Choosing an unusual venue can go a long way towards helping your conference stand out from the rest and make a mark on those in attendance. Here are some of the best London has to offer to help you do just that.

Pop Brixton

pop brixton

Pop Brixton’s main event space, Pop Box, has been constructed using upcycled shipping containers. It’s a multi-purpose venue, hosting all manner of events from the arts and business worlds, from live music, screenings and theatre productions to workshops, photoshoots and conferences. As such, extensive technical equipment is available onsite, as is catering courtesy of some of the city’s most highly acclaimed street food traders and pop-up restaurants.

Islington Metalworks

Another offering with unique beginnings, Islington Metalworks started out as stables used to house the horses that pulled trams for London Transport. Having been given a whole new lease of life however, it is now a flexible and characterful space used for everything from club nights to exhibitions that comes fully licenced, with a catering team and an up-and-running kitchen also to hand should you need them. Tucked right behind Angel tube station, it’s also a breeze to get to via public transport.

Oval Space

Boasting 5000 square feet of unobstructed event space that allows for guest lists of up to a very generous 1000, Oval Space is an ideal choice for those planning a large-scale conference. The flexibility that comes with this warehouse style venue means it is something of a blank canvas, allowing you the creative freedom to put your own stamp on it and adapt it to suit your needs. Two terraces provide handy additional space for summer receptions, whilst the Bethnal Green Gas Holders form a striking backdrop.

White Post Hackney

White post hackney

Floor to ceiling windows ensure that White Post Hackney feels bright and airy throughout the day. Found by the canal side in central Hackney Wick – just a few minutes from the station of the same name and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – it offers a contemporary café and spacious adjoining Atrium. With a welcoming vibe that strikes the live/work balance the area is known for, it is able to turn its hand to everything from product launches to wedding receptions. Full hire is available, as is a partial booking.
