Our venue is a one-of-a-kind facility offering adaptable, accessible dry-hire spaces. Retaining the striking character of its industrial past, the building first opened in 1896 as an electricity generating station. Today, its magnificent Combustion and Generating Chambers, versatile smaller studios, and an impressive outdoor Courtyard are available to hire year-round. These spaces have hosted an extraordinary range of events, from product launches, galas, and award ceremonies to film and broadcast showcases, technology expos, and more.
We are also proud to be home to the National Centre for Circus Arts, a charity dedicated to circus education and artistic development. Our programme includes a BA (Hons) degree in Circus Arts, as well as youth and adult classes, team-building workshops, and experience days. We also provide space for professional artists to train and create new work. Importantly, all revenue from our venue hire supports the ongoing work of the Centre, helping to nurture the next generation of circus artists.
