In its monastic past, the Cloisters were one of the busiest parts of the Abbey where the monks spent much of their time. Each of the cloisters is about 100 feet in length, forming a square around "Cloister Garth" - a lawned quadrangle with a fountain as its centrepiece.
Dating mainly from the 13th to the 15th centuries, the Cloisters were used for meditation, exercise and providing a route into the main monastic buildings. Today you can hire these spaces to treat your guests to a truly unique drinks reception in the heart of London.
Capacities given are based on hiring the East and North Cloisters. The East Cloister may be booked separately and takes a maximum capacity of 200. More information available on request.
