Consisting of three different permanent exhibition spaces, the Third Floor Galleries at The Courtauld provide the perfect setting to host guests amongst iconic artworks from the Courtauld Collection.
Greeting guests as they enter the Third Floor Galleries, at the top of our iconic staircase, the Weston Gallery is a welcoming ante-room featuring works by Degas, Manet and Pisarro. The perfect space to greet guests with a welcome drink, the Weston Gallery also features a specially commissioned large-scale painting by the contemporary artist Cecily Brown on display at the top of the Courtauld’s staircase, revisiting the early history of the building.
The largest reception space on the third floor, the spectacularly restored LVMH Great Room is the home of masterpieces from The Courtauld’s world-renowned collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. Highlights include Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère, Van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear, and the most significant collection of works by Cézanne in the UK. London’s oldest purpose-built exhibition space, the previously subdivided LVMH Great Room has been reinstated to its original breath-taking proportions and volume and provides an unforgettable new space for guests to enjoy as part of any event.
Guests also have access to the Katja and Nicolai Tangen 20th Century Gallery which stages carefully curated displays from The Courtauld’s collection of 20th century works of art, in particular a breathtaking piece by Oskar Kokoschka CBE.
The Third Floor Galleries are available for standing breakfast and evening receptions for up to 150 guests, with private dining for 60 available upon request.
