The atmosphere in the Library is both inviting and cozy, reminiscent of a comfortable London club room. In fact, during the 1920s, it served as a dining room for members of the Union Club. With its double aspect, the natural light that pours in from the windows overlooking The Mall and St James' Park is simply breath-taking. This makes it the perfect location for daytime meetings or early evening book launches. The room is also equipped with cutting-edge technology, allowing it to be used for board meetings, dining and entertaining.
Adjacent to the Reading Room, the Library serves as an excellent space for pre or post-dinner drinks, providing a relaxed and comfortable environment. The collection of books housed in the Library is centered around the humanities discipline and were written by fellows of The British Academy or academics sponsored by them. It is worth noting that the money generated by events hosted at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace is donated back to the Academy to fund further research into these important disciplines, which helps to deepen our understanding of human culture.
