The Alfred Le Roy has been making waves as the coolest thing to be seen in London waters since that heaven-can-wait whale found himself charging up The Thames. Combining expertly-mixed cocktails with canal cruises, you'll find this speak-easy aboard a classic British canal boat
Alfred is set up to thrive in all kinds of weather, making the most of it whether it’s a super sunny summer Sunday where we can crank open with two large retractable roof sections to keep it light and airy; or if it happens to be a wash-out winter Wednesday: where we're fully sheltered, comfortably warm and cosy.
You can also hang out in the area at the front tip of the boat for your obligatory Jack-and-Rose ‘I’m flying’ Titanic-selfie moment. A big pull of the experience is the relaxed cruising along the canal; between the relatively-familiar East London sights like the Olympic Stadium and Limehouse Basin, it's also a great way of discovering some visit-worthy little venues and beautiful spots along the water. The ever-changing scenery, a background to your event. We have windows throughout the entire cabin, so everyone gets a vew.
You can set your own ambience with your own music choice played through our integrated infinity sound system, or leave it to us to play our eclectic soundtrack of up tempo mixes. You can also have your own DJ aboard - at our pre-wired mix desk, or book one of our house DJs.
The Alfred Le Roy departs from the alongside CRATE Brewery in Hackney Wick.
Food and DrinkCocktails take the main stage. With house specialties such as the 'Akoya' (botanical gin, pressed apple, cranberry juice, lime juice, Kombucha, mint and cucumber) or a classic 'Le Roy' (coffee rum, Baileys cream liquor, Disaronno, with half & half cream). Alongside the bespoke cocktails, the bar is open for the whole cruise and there’s a good selection of classic cocktails and spirits, local beers (some on tap), wine, prosecco and soft drinks too.
You can pre-order our sharing platters and enjoy a selection of delicatessen bites with cured meats; cheeses from Neal’s Yard Dairy, Relishes from Rubies in the Rubble and typically-beautiful artisan breads from carb-loving East London favourite, E5 Bakehouse.
We also serve delicious olive mixes as well as bar snacks such as nuts and crisps.
